Hood River Event Site

Hood River, OR — Columbia River Gorge

The most consistently cited wing foil destination in the US. The Gorge's venturi effect (desert heat inland vs. cool coastal air) makes wind reliable almost all season, and river current adds extra glide. Gusty, with real river traffic to watch for — a beginner is better served nearby at 'the Hook.' Personal note from Will: I've been to Hood River twice, though the first trip was before I'd gotten into wing foiling — I mostly just watched people out on the water. The second time was a family trip and I hadn't brought gear, so I still didn't get out there. I've done a lot of research on this spot since, and actually planned a trip out this past summer, but the wind forecast wasn't cooperating enough to justify the cost, so I did something else in Oregon instead. Haven't sailed it myself yet, but it's on the list.
