What Wing Foil America collects, why, and how to control it.

Last updated: August 28, 2026

Wing Foil America is a personal, independent project. This page explains what information the site collects and why, in plain language.

What we collect

Email address, if you sign up for the newsletter. Newsletter signups are handled by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our third-party email provider. Your email is used only to send you updates from this site and is never sold or shared with anyone else. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Your location, only if you allow it, only in your browser. The Wind page and the Where to Ride map can use your device's location (with your explicit browser permission) to show you relevant wind conditions or nearby spots. This happens entirely in your browser — your location is never sent to or stored on our servers.

Anything you submit through a form, such as a "Submit a Spot" suggestion. Submissions are reviewed manually before anything is published; they are not automatically posted.

What we don't do

We don't sell your information. We don't run ads. We don't have user accounts or store passwords. We don't track you across other websites.

Third-party services this site uses

This site links out to, or embeds content from, third-party services that have their own privacy practices, including: Kit (our email newsletter provider), YouTube (embedded/linked instructional videos), Windy.com (embedded wind map), and various gear retailers we link to for buying equipment. We encourage you to review their privacy policies separately — we don't control how they handle data.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be posted here with a new "last updated" date.
