Grand Haven, MI — Great Lakes (West Michigan)

One of the best-known Great Lakes wind-sports towns, home to MACkite Boardsports Center, which teaches kiting, wing foiling, and eFoiling in town. The beach by the pier picks up nearly every wind direction except due east, with northwest wind turning the harbor mouth into a genuine wave-riding session. Summer beach crowds make riding near shore tight in peak season — spring and fall are clearer; watch for pier and channel traffic.
