About 20 minutes east of Hood River on Highway 14, a genuine Washington State Park and longtime windsurfing fixture increasingly drawing wing foilers chasing the same reliable thermal — a distinctly more advanced, more current-exposed scene than the more sheltered Hood River Event Site closer to town. Strong current can sweep a rider well across the river; no kite launching here at all (foil, wing, and windsurf only); requires a WA Discover Pass ($30) for parking.
